Better Techniques: Crochet Invisible Seams

This useful technique is abbreviated in my patterns as "inv-join." I wish I had learned this technique many years ago to create straighter, more even, and virtually invisible seams when crocheting in the round. The technique is detailed below along with the YouTube video tutorial (scroll to bottom of post) to help you add this valuable technique to your crochet toolbox.

Have a fantastic day! 🥰

How to Crochet the Invisible Join (inv-join)

Remove the loop from the hook and extend a bit to keep it from coming undone. Turn the work to the wrong side (WS) making sure the working yarn strand does not cross in front of hook or to the right side (RS) of the work. With WS facing, insert the hook into first stitch of the round, place loop back onto the hook making sure not to twist it, then draw the loop through the stitch.

Turn the work back around with RS facing, gently tug the loop until the first and last stitches of the round are right next to one another. Inv‑join complete. 🥳
