Grab your hooks and create beautiful and unique beaded crochet earrings in three easy rounds! No pre-stringing is required, which allows you to change bead colors and patterns on the fly. The amount of creativity is limitless.

SIZING:

 

Sample earring length: ~2.5in/6.35cm) long.

Beaded crochet hoop diameter: ~1.4in/3.55cm.

 

Customize earrings by lengthening or shortening the stainless steel chain length or using smaller or larger stainless steel rings.

 

 

GAUGE: Work Rnd 1 sts into the stainless steel ring so the piece lays as flat as possible when sts are spread out around the ring. The sample earrings contain 24 sc in Rnd 1; however, your earrings could have less or more sc sts. See the written pattern for more info.

  • YARN: Knit Picks Curio #10, 2-ply crochet thread, (#0, Lace Weight), [100% Mercerized Cotton; 721yds/366m per 100g ball], in color of choice, ~1g to make the sample earrings.

     

    HOOK: #9 | 1.15mm

     

    BEADS: Miyuki, size 6/0 Rocaille seed beads in color(s) of choice, sold in gram packets/tubes;
    96 beads for the pattern sample earrings.

     

    2 Lengths of Stainless Steel Chain: each measuring 2in / 5.08cm long with link sizes of ~2mm / 0.078in (dia), ~0.5mm / 0.019in gauge (thickness). You may use pre-cut chain lengths or cut the chain lengths yourself.

     

    2 Stainless Steel or Acrylic Rings (closed): each ring is 20mm/0.78in (dia), ~0.9mm (0.35”) gauge (thick).

     

    OTHER TOOLS & NOTIONS

     

    • 1 pair of French ear wires
    • 1 locking stitch marker
    • jewelry pliers (chain nose or bent nose work well)
    • tapestry needle that fits through the bead holes to draw yarn through them in the final round. (sizes 20, 22, or 24 work well)
    • Scissors
    • Optional: tape measure/ruler and jewelry pliers if you are cutting the stainless steel chain yourself
    • Optional: ear wire stoppers
